Will finally got to meet his great-grandparents this weekend!

We had a busy weekend, but we were still able to stop by and have a brief visit & dinner with Will's friend, Hunter (& my friend, Carole) -- I love how they're holding hands here!

Here's another blurry picture, but I wanted to share an action shot of Will getting on his knees and trying to crawl. He does this all the time and even likes to get up on his toes. His sister took off at 6 months and never slowed down -- we'll see when this little guy is ready...

We had been trying to make it to Dallas for the last couple months and it finally happened this weekend! Aubrey and Will got to see their great-grandparents, Nana, Uncle Tim , as well as Aunt Susan. Of course we got spoiled with lots of good food & good company and the kids got lots of attention, so everyone was happy... The whole trip home Aubrey kept asking if we could go back to Dallas! I also got to help host a baby shower for one of my best friends & college roommate, Laura. It was fun to get to see her cute pregnant belly and to get to catch up with her and other close friends. All in all it was a great trip and we'll look forward to our next visit!

Two teeth!

Will has two bottom teeth all of the sudden! I totally anticiapted this milestone with Aubrey and checked her gums frequently for any sign of pearly whites poking through. After all of Will's drooling lately, I finally looked in his mouth the other day and thought I might see some white under his gums and 2 days later, both bottom teeth had broken through! He's also taken a liking to his left thumb in the last few days -- we'll see if that becomes a new habit, like his big sister.

Neither Aubrey or Will seemed all that excited about our morning walk today. Thankfully, once we started moving they both perked up and we were able to enjoy some fresh air and more tolerable weather. I can't wait for "fall" -- I know we don't have a real fall in Texas, but I'm looking forward to some cooler temps at least!

What Will's up to:

-constant rolling

-grabbing toys

-throwing punches & pulling hair -- that's why I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually fixed my hair and worn it down -- I live in a ponytail

-likes to sit in Bumbo

-likes to stand in exersaucer

-still very smiley & talkative

-has been sleeping a 10 hour stretch at night lately, from about 8:30 to 6:30,

we hope this continues...

-flips on his tummy to sleep, scoots around crib and likes to sleep with his bottom in the air

-drools a ton, not sure if he's teething or just drooling

-I'll post his stats next week after we go in for his 4 month appt. I still think he's on the big side b/c he's starting to wear more 6-9 month stuff and I'm beginning to put away lots of 3-6 month clothes. He's still as cute and sweet as ever!

Five

The happy couple at a young age of 22 & 25, we're so old now...

It is hard for me to believe that has been five years since I walked down the aisle and Robert and I said "I do". Two houses and two children later, a lot has changed -- we now have a mortgage to pay and sweet kids to care for, etc. But what hasn't changed is how much I love and admire my husband. I pray that we have many, many more anniversaries to celebrate together. I am so thankful that God brought us together -- as the engraving on our wedding bands remind us -- "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19)

Free time!

This is day two of Aubrey and Will actually napping at the same time! Yesterday they both took a two and a half hour nap and today they have already both been napping for an hour. I am so used to one of them being awake all the time... I can't decide what to do with this precious time -- hop on the treadmill, read, clean, take a nap -- so many choices. Also, we've had 2 nights of Will sleeping an 8 hour stretch from 10 until about 6 so we're getting a little more sleep here at night, as well. We'll see if this pattern continues. Hopefully it will, but if not, I'm going to enjoy it will it lasts.

Wedding weekend in Houston

We brought Will to the rehersal dinner and thankfully, he was angel all night.

We had a successful trip to Houston this weekend with the kids -- they both did well in the car -- they didn't sleep much, but at least they stayed pretty happy. It was also our first trip to take since Aubrey's been potty trained and that went fine, too. We only had to stop once each way for a potty break. We hadn't been to Houston since New Years, so it was great to visit Robert's family. Robert's parents babysat Aubrey 2 nights and Will had his first babysitters on Saturday night while we went to a wedding. A friend of Robert's that he has known since 2nd grade got married and he got to catch up with lots of old friends.

This is the latest strange creature we've spotted in our yard... This thing is at least 6 inches long and has made one of our plants its home for the last week -- yuck!

Will (3 mos.) and Emily (7 mos.) -- Notice their similarity in size eventhough Will is 4 months younger! Emily's older sister, Kate, is just about a week older than Aubrey and we have been getting together with them since Kate & Aubrey were 2.5 months old. They came over today to play and brought us lunch and we had a great time catching up!
