Last Day of Preschool!

Aubrey had her last day of preschool EVER on Wednesday! We were both really sad about it -- she has had such a great preschool experience that neither of us were ready for it to end. I was surprised by how emotional I got during her class party -- my baby is growing up too fast! This year literally flew by and I can't believe I have a kindergartner already.

Aubrey's teachers gave us all kinds of memorabilia from the year. She even made each child a scrap book with pictures from the whole school year. :)

Aubrey is signed up for VBS at the church where her preschool is located, so she is looking forward to seeing several of her preschool buddies one last time this summer.

Aubrey & Will have been requesting to "play school" on this dry erase board lately. Aubrey likes to write letters, numbers, words and a few math problems.

I like how she wrote "Infinity + Infinity = Infinity."

Will also learned to write his name on it last week!

My favorite things Aubrey wrote on this day are: "Raindrops + Sun = Rainbow" and "caterpillar + chrysalis = butterfly." Both of these are represented with little pictures she drew.

Butterflies!

We had fun with our butterfly kit this spring! We got our caterpillars in the mail a couple weeks ago, got to watch them grow & form their chrysalises (sp?), then several days later we watched them emerge as butterflies. Aubrey and Will both enjoyed it, but as you can see Will didn't have any interest in holding the butterflies when we released them. Aubrey could of held them all day, but they eventually took off and flew away. We'll definitely do it again next year...

Eloise & Dragony

The Parker kids are now proud pet owners! Aubrey has been asking for a pet for months and months. We were way adventurous and went with two Beta fish. Aubrey named hers Eloise and Will named his either Drogony, Blackie, or Toothless depending on his mood. They have made it about a week so far and the kids are excited to feed them each morning.

Happy Birthday, Robert!

Today Robert turned 33! We met when he was 23, I can't believe we've known each other for 10 years...

We had a delicious dinner at Sweetwater Tavern followed by cupcakes and a few presents at home. The kids were so excited to bake the cupcakes today and celebrate this evening. Will asked to make "chocolate cupcakes with chocolate eggs on top with baseball icing and football candles." We didn't have all the supplies to make Will's cake, but they seemed happy with the plain vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. Will also wanted to go to Go Bananas (toy store in our town center) and get Daddy some Legos for his birthday :)

Mother's Day

I love being Mommy to these two! They made me feel extra special today -- Aubrey and Will both made me cards, Aubrey picked out the flowers for me and we had a yummy dinner from the grill. I also got lots of hugs and lost count of how many times I heard "Happy Mother's Day!" I am also so thankful for my mom and grandmother and can't wait to see them in a few weeks when we go to Texas! And I hope all my fellow mommy friends had a great day and felt appreciated... It is a hard job, but so worth it!

VIP

Aubrey was so excited to be the "Very Important Preschooler" this week! Her class is named the "Red Balloons," so the kids get to make a big red balloon poster all about themselves. We added lots of family pictures, a baby picture of Aubrey and of course plenty of stickers and decorations. I also got to go into the classroom today to read stories to the kids -- it brought me back to my preschool teaching days. It is hard to believe Aubrey only has a couple weeks left of preschool and then she'll be a big kindergartner! Here she is posing with her poster...

We celebrated on Will's real birthday -- Thursday 4/29. We had a casual backyard "race car" party with several of our neighbors. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!
