Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Saturday morning, the kids were excited to hunt for eggs with their neighbor friends. They also both got balloon animals and Aubrey got her face painted. The highlight for both of them was the magician, who was really more of a comedian. There were a few magic tricks, but he really knew his audience and all the kids were cracking up laughing the whole time -- it was fun to watch. Now we are on spring break and trying to have some fun this week and of course looking forward to Easter this weekend!

This Week...

This is week three in a row of Robert traveling. He usually only has to travel once or twice a month, but he's been extra busy lately. The good news is that his territory is going to be cut in half so he'll only be responsible for Northern VA, which means much less travel in the near future :). In the meantime, we've still been hitting the parks once or twice a day, playing with neighbors A LOT, and I got to enjoy a nice leisurely (4 hour!) lunch with a few girls on Sunday afternoon. We're just super excited about the warmer weather and loving coming out of our hibernation! We're also looking to make some travel plans to Texas later this spring or early summer at the latest. Here are a few shots from the last several days.

Picnic and playtime at the park today after preschool. Aubrey always brings one of her horses with us wherever we go lately -- today it was "Queen Sarafina."

Popping popcorn for our Friday night "movie night." This week we watched Lady and the Tramp. Anyone have any suggestions for favorite family movies to add to our list?

Falling down...

Aubrey was building an "elevator."

Pajama Day! Aubrey was so excited to wear her pajamas and bring her stuffed animal, "Paisley," to school. They also read lots of stories, played board games and had cereal and donut holes for snack. Everyday when I pick her up she always says, "Today was the best day ever!"

Aubrey update...

-She is always drawing pictures for her friends at preschool or for our neighbors. All of them are plastered with a bunch of "I heart U"s and rainbows all over them.

-She loves to help me cook/bake, put stickers in her sticker book and dress all her stuffed animals in baby clothes.

-She still considers every bead, button or sequin a treasure worth keeping.

-Baby carrots, toasted almonds or a grapefruit are her snacks of choice lately. Unless she wants a "junk snack" like nachos or ice cream, which I sometimes allow.

-She's excited about starting her first season of soccer in a couple weeks with her good friend, Annemarie.

-At her five year well check, she was 40 pounds and 45 inches tall, still on the tall side.

-We just finished reading the third "Little House" book and it made both of us want to live on a farm.

-She loves reading the Bob books and writing all her friends names. I love watching the way she sounds out and spells longer words like "Satrda" (Saturday) and "Wensda" (Wednesday).

-She still loves princesses, dress up and jewelry, but also bugs and dinosaurs.

-She gets extra sweet at bedtime, always telling me "I love you so much. I just can't explain it."

Plasma Cars

Aubrey & Will were so excited to find two big packages on our doorstep the other night. Nana sent them these cool Plasma Cars that move simply by turning the steering wheel back and forth. Robert put them together with the kid's "help" and they rode them around the kitchen island about a hundred times before bedtime. Thank you, Nana! We have finally had some weather in the 50s the last few days, so we're looking forward to testing them outside soon. We have made it to the park the last three days once or twice a day, it has been wonderful!
