Tea Party

Okay, this picture is from the mall on Friday. The kids got their pictures taken and then we rode the train, the carousel and got Chick-fil-a -- that's why A & W call it the "fun mall".

Today Aubrey's favorite buddy from preschool had a tea party for her 4th. The girls decorated hats with ribbon & flowers and made necklaces.

After playing some games, they sat down for tea, sandwiches and of course, birthday cake.

Laura's Visit

So sad that this is the only picture I took of me & Laura! We planned to take pictures at the capital, but we were running late for our tour. We decided we'd take some after the tour, but then it was raining. So after walking in the rain and going out to eat, we finally took one picture before heading home. I had a great time getting to see Laura, her husband Matt and meeting their precious Victoria. Laura's one of my best friends from high school -- we've known each other for 15 years! We also went to the Smithsonian and Laura & Tori got to come over and have lunch on another day. Thanks for making the trip and Happy belated Birthday, Laura!

Dallas Arboretum

Sunday afternoon, after the wedding was over and we had checked out of the B&B, we headed to the Dallas Arboretum for Dallas Blooms. It was a perfect spring day and all the tulips and daffodils were gorgeous!

Aubrey said these flowers looked like Aunt Susan's wedding cake.

They had some new Storybook Playhouses built all around the gardens. Here is Will in front of the Hansel & Gretel house

If we had longer to stay, we would have packed a picnic and enjoyed more of the warm weather before coming back to the cold...

I really wish I had this on video

After Susan & Kevin's first dance, everyone was still crowded around and Will decided to take the stage. He ran into the middle and started dancing, stomping, kicking and turning, with his tongue out the entire time. Everyone was laughing and commenting and stayed to watch him for a long time. Eventually one or two groomsmen came out and did a dance move and then Will would imitate them and then give them a quick high five.

This kick dance move has made several people's facebook albums.

He also did what looked like some break dancing. He'd put his hands on the floor and kick his feet in the air and spin around on the floor. I'm willing to pay some cash for anyone who has this on video.

Finally, a groomsman brought out a megaphone thing and Will would copy him and yell stuff like, "Yeah, Yeah" and "Alright, alright!"

Reception

Yeah, I took about 200 or so pictures last weekend... Here are A & W with cousins, Barrett & Addy, dancing away.

Barrett & Aubrey kept picking Will up and trying to carry him around -- he didn't seem to mind.

This could be our next Christmas card picture -- don't you like our red & green?

Aubrey did some ballet dancing and sang aloud to the entire "Love Story" song by Taylor Swift. I wish I brought my video camera or remembered that my regular camera can take video.

Rehearsal

We had a great trip to Dallas! Here are A & W on the "big airnane" to TX, watching a little Dora. We kept them occupied with lots of coloring and stickers and snacks. I had a progression of snacks packed -- starting with healthier snacks and ending with a lollipop & m&ms.

It is almost impossible to get a good picture of all 4 of us these days -- Here was our attempt at the rehearsal dinner. We were excited to eat some real TX BBQ that we've been missing in VA.

Aubrey was so excited to be the "Very Important Preschooler" or "Star of the Week" last week. She got to decorate this star with all her favorite things, bring snack, and bring show and tell. They also interviewed her at circle time and have her star hanging up in her classroom.

She used crayons, dot paint markers, ric rac, foam shapes, pom poms and some jewel stickers to decorate her star.
