Will is 4 weeks old... time flies!

Here's a picture from Will's first real bath, about a week and a half ago. Aubrey's very into signing letters lately so when she saw this picture, she said, "He's signing 'a' and 'i' ".

We caught him awake for his first & second week pictures, but he was out for his 3 week old picture.

Aubrey likes to "write" by drawing lots of lines -- She'll spell out "A-U-B-R-E-Y" as she's writing and say that it spells Aubrey, Daddy or Mommy. She also likes to write all over herself -- she's examing the blue chalk on her knee as we waited for her little pool to fill up with water.

We went in for Will's 2 week check up on Friday and he is already 9lbs 12 oz (75%) and 22 inches long (90%). He's still been pretty easy-- sleeping a lot and only crying a little. He is starting to have some more awake time though, which is fun b/c he's starting to be able to focus better and hold eye contact longer

I feel like we just got home from the hospital, but it has already been a week! We are doing well -- we took Will to the Dr. on Thursday and he was already back up to his birthweight in less than a week -- this boy likes to eat! He's also a pretty good sleeper so far and seems very laid back and easy going. We are all crazy about him.... Aubrey loves kissing him and snuggling with him. With Robert home from work, my mom in town and lots of meals coming from church, we have been taking it easy and resting a lot. We are trying to enjoy these early days and weeks as much as we can since we know he won't be a newborn for long.

William Christian Parker

Will arrived at 12:50 am on Sunday morning, April 29. He weighed 9 pounds even (can you believe it???) and was 20 1/4 inches long. My water broke as I was reading Aubrey her bedtime story at 8:15 and he was here 4 1/2 hours later. We are so thankful for a quick, smooth delivery and a healthy baby boy. Thanks for all your prayers and I apologize if we haven't called you or called you back yet! We'll post more pictures soon...

Aubrey set out this blanket and said it was a "big boat" and then she put her lamb chair on it and said it was "Shem". Then she added her bunny and said it was "Ham" and lastly, her baby doll was "Japheth". I asked her if she was Noah and she said, "No, I'm Mary" (meaning Noah's wife -- she thinks all the women in the Bible are named Mary).

Here I am barefoot and pregnant, about 39 weeks. Please pray for us in the next days and weeks ahead, that all goes smoothly and that we have a healthy baby boy!

"I like baseballing", Aubrey commented while hitting the tennis ball off the cone (she's wearing her rain boots once again).

Happy Easter!

We pulled out the sweater and tights to accompany the Easter dress this year.

After church and a good nap, we went to a family from church's house for a potluck and egg hunt. There were 40+ people there... we had a great time and Aubrey found lots of eggs! 

Saturday was cold and rainy all day, but we finally let Aubrey go outside after much pleading. Her new favorite thing to do is look for bugs, so she wanted to inspect the back porch for any she could find. Here she is in her pajamas, rain boots, jacket and umbrella stomping in the soggy grass. She lasted for five to ten minutes and was then ready to come back inside. 

I think this picture captures Aubrey's personality. All the other kids are sitting on the bed and Aubrey is in mid-air. 

Astros vs. Round Rock Express

Aubrey was excited to attend her first baseball game of the season -- the Houston Astros were in town to play an exhibition game against the Express. Aubrey loves going to the Dell Diamond -- playing with her friend John on the berm, tasting new foods like cotton candy, seeing fireworks when there's a homerun, and even watching the game on occasion. She also likes participating in all the crowd activities, like cheering and doing the chicken dance.
