Aubrey set out this blanket and said it was a "big boat" and then she put her lamb chair on it and said it was "Shem". Then she added her bunny and said it was "Ham" and lastly, her baby doll was "Japheth". I asked her if she was Noah and she said, "No, I'm Mary" (meaning Noah's wife -- she thinks all the women in the Bible are named Mary).

Here I am barefoot and pregnant, about 39 weeks. Please pray for us in the next days and weeks ahead, that all goes smoothly and that we have a healthy baby boy!

Happy Easter!

We pulled out the sweater and tights to accompany the Easter dress this year.

After church and a good nap, we went to a family from church's house for a potluck and egg hunt. There were 40+ people there... we had a great time and Aubrey found lots of eggs! 

Saturday was cold and rainy all day, but we finally let Aubrey go outside after much pleading. Her new favorite thing to do is look for bugs, so she wanted to inspect the back porch for any she could find. Here she is in her pajamas, rain boots, jacket and umbrella stomping in the soggy grass. She lasted for five to ten minutes and was then ready to come back inside. 

I think this picture captures Aubrey's personality. All the other kids are sitting on the bed and Aubrey is in mid-air. 

Astros vs. Round Rock Express

Aubrey was excited to attend her first baseball game of the season -- the Houston Astros were in town to play an exhibition game against the Express. Aubrey loves going to the Dell Diamond -- playing with her friend John on the berm, tasting new foods like cotton candy, seeing fireworks when there's a homerun, and even watching the game on occasion. She also likes participating in all the crowd activities, like cheering and doing the chicken dance.

36 weeks pregnant... Aubrey's almost a big sister! 

Aubrey had a great time with her friends who visited from Louisiana this past weekend! Aubrey is right between them in age and so she enjoyed playing with both of them in different ways. Here they are staying entertained as we waited for our table at Chuy's. Playing hide and seek in the playhouse -- she still usually reveals her hiding spot beofre I come and find her.
After many hours of digging up grass and shoveling 6 tons of gravel, Robert finished Aubrey's play area last week. Now he has less to mow and edge around and we don't have to worry about the sandbox or anything killing the grass. Aubrey has been asking to spend lots of time outside lately, so I think all the manual labor was worth it. 

Big Girl Bed

Aubrey has been sleeping in her "big girl room" in her "big girl bed" for about a week now. For some reason, I was really worried about moving her, but she has done great! She doesn't climb out until she wakes up in the morning so I think we'll at least have this transition down before baby boy arrives in 1 month!

BOY! I ended up having an ultrasound at my 34 week check-up today and my doctor finally confirmed that we are indeed expecting a baby boy in about 6 weeks! We were okay with not knowing for sure, but it is also nice to be able to focus only on boy names and get the nursery ready, etc. Thankfully, everything looked good on the ulltrasound so we're praying that the last stretch of this pregnancy and the delivery will go smoothly. You can also pray for Aubrey as we enter this transitional time. She was really funny at my appoitment today. For some reason she loves Dr. Love and she is always so well behaved and patient at my appoitments. Normally she is so active and doesn't like to sit still, but she quietly looks at books and makes conversation with the doctors and nurses in the office. Today during my ultrasound, she was talking to Dr. Love and he said, "You annunciate your words very well, Aubrey" and she replied, "I surely do".
I don't even thik she knows what annunciate means, but it was a fitting response.

We both enjoyed playgroup at the park yesterday -- it was in the mid 70s with lots of sunshine. It really felt like spring and I even noticed that our cheeks got rosy -- time to break out the sunscreen. Aubrey especially enjoyed feeding the ducks and playing with all her friends from church.
